New studio! Open studio!
December 13, 10am-4pm at Holland Arts, NE Minneapolis
December greetings from snowy Minneapolis.
In September, I moved into a studio in the Holland Arts West building! I’ve been spending the past few weeks unpacking, nesting, and settling into what I have lovingly dubbed my Adult Daytime Apartment. It has been a beautiful space or solitude in the midst of a busy fall
I haven’t had any visitors (yet!) but my door will be open on December 13, 10am-4pm. There are 2 Holland studio buildings on the same block. I’m in Holland West 3B (up the stairs, first door on the right). I’ll have art to look at, Artist Quilt Ts, stickers, and other handmade items for purchase. Many other artists will have their studios open as well, I’m excited to snoop about. Let me know if you have questions!
It seems as if this fall has just completely evaporated. It went so incredibly fast I can’t even explain the time warp.
Object Lessons at T. Mari Gallery in Chicago:
I was delighted to be included in this group exhibition at T. Mari Gallery in Chicago this fall alongside 16 other artists. The show was curated by my longtime friend and college professor, Tim Lowly. I got to visit Tim over Thanksgiving and it was a delight to catch up.
join me at Mia:
Art Play: January 3, 10am-2pm I’ll be leading a free, cardboard theme art making workshop for kids and their adults. This Art Play will be happening on the 15/16th day of Minneapolis Winter Break. Art Play happens 2 Saturdays a month!
Family Day: Jan 11, 10am-4:30pm I’m leading a Dala Horse making activity in the studios, but be sure to check out all of the other activations around the museum. Family Day happens 2nd Sunday of each month!
Mini Mia: 1st Wednesday and Friday of each month for babies - 5 year olds + caregiver. (I’m there on Wednesdays). Top secret tip: It is free to register, but registration always fills up instantly…. but we accept walk-ins.
open chaos:

I’m participating in Move Through the Darkness Challenge by walking 100 miles in December and January to ward off the Seasonal Affective Disorder with my siblings-in-law. I’ve walked 8 miles so far!
Much love to you all!
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year.
May you find some peace and hope amongst the madness this holiday season.
xoxo,
Laura
